Sayonara Japan, Hello Thailand posted Sunday, April 02, 2006
As most of you know, we've left the land of the rising sun for some adventure before heading back to Canada.
The first 5 nights after leaving Japan were spent in Bangkok, catching some sights missed on our last trip, like the Temple of the Dawn, Wat Arun, and catching up with some friends from last year too.
Then we headed into the ancient capital Ayutthaya for some sightseeing. We hired a tuk tuk/guide for the afternoon who took us to a nice riverside restaurant for lunch and then some major spots of interest around the city.
This morning we hopped on a train for Chiang Mai, where this is currently being scribed. It was a long 10 hour trip, but we were provided with some refreshments and, the countryside was beautiful to watch roll by. Sunsets in this country are breathtaking.
We miss you and apologize for the lack of photos to date. We hope to add some soon.
