Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto.

We took a short trip to Kyoto to visit the famous Kiyomizu(three rivers) temple. Three sacred Japanese rivers converge at this site. Founded in 798, the buildings date from 1633.
On the way we walked through ancient Gion and caught site of some spring Maikos(apprentice Geisha), posing for a photo.

Hi Laura and Jonas, Just dropping by tonight to say howdi and tell you how much I enjoy your 'journals' and the beautiful pictures of Osaka. I think we may have seen that temple in Maddie's "Big Bird Goes To Japan" DVD ( "we're going to Kyoto, like Dorothy and Toto..." ). She just asked us to watch it last week and was saying "that's where uncle Jonas and Auntie Laura are!". Great pics...we especially like the smiling buddha. Tom, Marie, Maddie & Amelie
