Campers Paradise posted Wednesday, March 10, 2004 During the first 3 month of travelling I was asked many times if I was travelling alone. Since I flew here alone I agreed. But not until now am I really alone. All the pictures you've scrolled through have always shown people that have been there for me every day. After getting a ride to Brisbane with a friend taking an expensive train ride to the tiny town of Nambour, finally to end up on a small bus to Noosa do I feel lost and alone.
I found my fist coconut on the beach today. Peeled the hairies off and smashed it open. Picked it up for a deep sniff of coconut milk. I strongly urge that nobody follow in my footsteps. What was in there was probably the worst thing I've ever smelt, this statement coming from a garbage man of 4 years. Like any sour milk being close to it will kept me rank all evening long. Later I caught a glimps of a roomate balancing his financial books, that was a little stange I thought.

It's hard to explain how I'm feeling as I write this portion of the entry. Anyone who knows me understands how much I enjoy camping. After sleeping in an overpriced hostel, fairly different from others towns I've visited, I decided to find somewhere else. The difference was maybe the age group. Not a big difference but enough to wonder why 20 people didn't gather around while The Simpson's aired like I'm used to noticing. In fact I turned them on and watched alone. During supper in the spacious kitchen I was the only one making 2min noodles versus a gourmet meal. A few others eating watermelon for supper agreed with me. Today I had planned to stay at a much cheaper place with a pool for our muggy eves. Already searched everywhere for a nearby caravan park without luck. Until luck came and nipped me in the rear. A shuttle bus from a hostel comprised of large tent shelters. Kitchen, TV lounge, dorm and office all tents. Course I had the very cheap option of setting up my large 4 man tent some call the palace. This site is 2km from the paved road and another 3 km from civilization. It's more like a retreat in Malaysia. I was pointed out a mud pit used as a spa in a fresh water, sand filtered quarry. Very good for the skin.
A 6ft green snake already crossed my path, they call it a tree snake. I bought a bargain bus ticket this morning with unlimited stops up to Cairns from Noosa worth $180, got it from a traveler for $100. I called the bus company to probe the validity, it checked out. After my mud spas and lounging around in the middle of no where I hopped on the bus to Hervey bay to do a Fraser Island 4x4 self drive trip. Pics to follow.
